ABOUT RAHP

The purpose of the RAHP (Risk and Hazard Profile) Sheet to provide a tool that enables the effective management of risk associated with tasks undertaken across a diverse range of industries.

Risk Management is defined as, “the identification, assessment, and prioritisation of risks” (described in ISO 31000 as the effect of uncertainty on objectives, whether positive or negative) followed by coordinated and economical application of resources to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realisation of opportunities.

This sounds very complex but the reality is that the management of risk is simple once the principles are understood. i.e. the hazards of the work process are identified and their risks controlled by practical measures. The RAHP Sheet helps in the effective facilitation of this process by providing a web based program with functions that allow an unprecedented level of control over the outcomes.

Since the inception of compulsory risk management by Workplace Health and Safety legislation, the challenges of identifying hazards and evaluating their potential risks has generated a great deal of discussion and anxiety among those required to undertake these assessments.

Development costs, quality and accuracy of information, time constraints, consistency, file storage, auditing and importantly, the understanding of the principles of risk management by those conducting the assessments are just a few of the impediments to the broad acceptance of current systems to manage risk within the workplace.

The RAHP Sheet has been developed to alleviate the challenges listed above and to allow the program’s user to quickly establish confidence to produce a comprehensive risk assessment with a level of detail suitable for the task.
